I cannot find my bookmarklet - where did it go?
The bookmarklet gets added to your browsers' 'favourites' toolbar and the three most common reasons why the myrecipeez bookmarklet goes missing/cant' be seen are:
- Your favourites toolbar has been disabled or hidden from view.
- You already have a number of bookmarklets or favourites in you favourites toolbar and the myrecipeez bookmarklet is in there, but it is off the field of view.
- You are using Internet Explorer 6, Internet Exporer 7 or Internet Explorer 8.
If you cannot see a favourites bar at all, check out you browser settings/preferences and make sure the "bookmarks bar" or "favourites bar" is enabled (different browsers handle this setting differently but all will provide an easy way to enable your favourits bar). In some modern browsers (such as Google Chrome and later versions of Firefox) you can right click anywhere below the address bar and select "Bookmarks Bar" or "Show Bookmarks Bar" from the menu.
If you can see your favourites bar, there may be an arrow towards the right of the bar, or a favourites/bookmarks menu item, that will allow you to expand and show all of your bookmarks. The myrecipeez bookmarklet should be in that list, if it is not, drag and drop the image below into your favourites bar. It is also worth noting that some browsers will let you drag and position your existing bookmarklets, it is recommended that you drag the myrecipeez bookmarklet to the top of your favourites list so it appears in your favourites toolbar (this will also make it easier to bookmark recipes).
Please note that dragging and dropping bookmarks only works on non mobile devices.
If you are running Internet Explorer 8 or earlier, unfortunately the bookmarklet cannot be used because the required drag+drop functionality does not work on these browsers (sorry guys). You can however still copy and past the url of your favourite recipe into myrecipeez.
I would like to bookmark a recipe from a site that is not in the supported sites list, can I still bookmark recipes from that site?
Unfortunately we currently cannot support all recipe sites (we are hoping to change that soon). But if there is a recipe site you would like to add to the list of supported recipe sites, visit the contact us page and shoot us the URL of the recipe site and we will make sure that our furry (but lovable) developers get to building in support for the recipe site.
Can I view the site on my mobile device?
In short - Yes! myrecipeez works a treat on mobile devices, but we are hard at work to make native mobile views. Currently the iPhone view has been completed and the iPad view is well underway. Our plan is to support all major Apple and Android mobile devices in the very near future. So stay peeled to our twitter and facebook pages for our announcement on mobile device support.
